The bombing occurred at a parking space where several buses, carrying evacuated civilians from the besieged villages of Kefraya and Al Foua, were parked. More than a ton of explosive was reportedly used in the blast. The terrorist attack claimed the lives of more than 100 civilians, majority of them children. According to eyewitnesses, the terrorists lured the children out of the buses by teasing them with toys and sweets. As soon as the children started to approach them, the blasts were triggered.
